Amalfi coast is one of the most touristic area of the south of Italy. It is famous for the cliff side towns and roads challenging the gravity law:

      and never ending twisty roads:

      and colorful towns:

The roads are likely to be clogged during the week-end, but we were lucky because the weather forecast predicted few showers which actually did not occurred. So not so much people planned to go there during the last week-end.

While the elite pushes for ecological transition and electric engines, I enjoy the power of a 1200cc 4 strokes engine fed by 4 x 40mm. carburetors.

No matter an air cooled 2005 BMW R1200GS:

or a liquid cooled 2003 Kawasaki ZZR 1200:

Amalfi coast is a great place for any motorcycle. pretty near to the Vesuvio, Pompei and Paestum:

with ferry boat you may reach Ischia:

Instead Capri is too small for motorcycles.

I'd love to go to Paestum. I don't think I would leave.

I think I see/feel passion building for a future "ZZR Idiots Ride Italy" Trans-Atlantic tour...

Renting is a good option. I did in Tenerife (a Spanish island in the middle of the Atlantic ocean).
The Yamaha XT 600 was perfect for the island roads and for climbing the Teide Volcano.

I rented Yamaha Tracer 900 in Poland.
I was very impressed by the traction control which allows you to be confident in brutally opening the throttle within 20 minutes of riding. I do not dare to do it with ZZR yet..
