  • A colorful Saturday in the heart of the winter

Last Friday I noticed that the weather forecast for the forthcoming week-end were not so bad... So, I run out of the office... we packed the staff on Kawasaki and we went toward Tuscany.
I always saw the Viareggio Carnival on TV but I never joined. I did not book any hotel, because of all the concerns about:
    • the passenger footpegs
    • handlebar riser
    • windscreens
    • the seat
    • and so on
In other words I was not sure about reaching a pre-defined destination.

We realize in Florence an extra space for passenger heels behind the case:

I may contract the lumbar muscle and relaxing the elbows for unloading the wrists. An healthy posture that keeps stronger muscles preventing the back pain.

No wobbling of ZED (like I experienced on R1200GS), actually a reassuring stability despite the big GIVI E56 on the back.
    Great loading capability: 41lt + 41lt + 56lt = 138 liters = 30 gallons:

After 2 hours of riding, we gain the confidence for not coming back home, so I booked an hotel in "Montecatini Terme".

On Saturday morning we bought the Viareggio Carnival tickets and we spent few hours in Lucca:

The "Viareggio Parade" starting in the afternoon was great:

I overcame the paralysis by analysis.

You can't teach an old dog new tricks.

I am becoming old like everyone, but I am not a dog.... I am just discovering an excellent new (old) bike after 8 years of BMW.

Well done! A Kawasaki is definitely a step up from a BMW

Me, coming up on 21 years with my Zed. She still gets it done.

After such a long time, the bike tires are supposed to be an extension of your body.
Instead I am still on the rising part of the learning curve.
Every time I ride, I improve my feeling.

This is my 6th bike, in the last 21 years: Suzuki DR-650, Kawa ZR-7S, Triumph Legend 900, Honda CBF-600, BMW R1200GS.

I tested even for few days (rented) a Tracer 900 and Tracer 7. They were both: super simple and super funny to ride.
With them you may brutally open the throttle letting the traction control to modulate the wheeling.

I've had a few bikes over the years myself. I'd have to sit down and recount the list.
The Zed, to me, is the best, most enjoyable one I have ever owned. It just "fits" every
mood, road, ride, I go on. It's my therapy for sure.

After a looking at weather forecast.... I set my destination the south..
After a Nice lunch in Gaeta:

                We proceeded toward Amalfi coast:

... I did wear my warmer motorcycle suit, but at lunch time I realized how fast we are getting in to spring.

I love this thread and the great photo's but it should probably in the Road Trips and Rally's category rather than Racing and Fantasy Leagues...

So let it be written; so let it be done
I have neither the time,or the inclination, to explain myself to a man, who rises and sleep under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner, in which I provide it. I'd rather you just say 'thank you' and go on your way.
