Weather was crazy this year. I'm happy for late rain though, no watering of the lawns yet. Spring water is flowing heavy and river is up. Hard on riding schedule for everyone but it's making life in the PNW nice.

Finally set a plan for a northwest ZZR circle tour for Mrs. Bctrout & I. Aug 1st we'll ferry from Victoria BC to Port Angeles WA then a short run down the west side of Puget Sound to Hoodsport WA (2 nights). Thereafter head southwestward over to 101 and down the coast to Lincon city OR (2 nights). Then cross eastward to Portland (2nights). Then B-line back to Canukle Land on I5 (yuk) to go boating north from Deep Cove North Vancouver (5 nights). Then back over to the island for beer a festival in Chemainus (2 nights).
I'll likely do a separate solo extended 4-5 day extra long weekend run early September along Hwy 3, possibly crossing south to visit Republic or Spokane WA, eventually landing in Kaslo BC & thereafter return via the Duffy to Van Isl.Last edited by bctrout; 07-23-2022, 03:16 PM.sigpicComment

Mrs. Trout & I are finally ready & sitting with shit eating grins &
time to chill before hitting the road tomorrow am for two weeks of fun.
Had lots of time to test ride solo to confirm all is safe & sound as can be for Mrs. Trout.
The old ZZR (now 20 years on) is an amazing machine with upgraded suspension & like anything well maintained it’s a pleasure to ride. Fresh oil/filter change, bearings/tires/chain check, tools/repair kits check, laminar lip installed (1 year + after purchase), fork stem RAM mounts X-grip for iPhone not the greatest due to rotation tendency but found through vigorous road tests to have found its happy place nestled next to front break reservoir.
With his & hers side cases, all clothes & shit packed have each Givi weighing 26.2lbs.

20 min down the road and we were stopped on the highway due to mismanaged chip seal project. We moved 300 - 400 yards every 30 min while traffic backed up for an hour in both directions.
