  • 2022 2 West Thread!

Kicking this off now- 'cause we already had a little discussion about maybe doing our next summer Rally earlier in the riding season, to mitigate the threat of fires/smoke/searing heat from wrecking our fun. Maybe look at dates up until July 4 ? If we go to early the threat of rain (in the NW/Canada) is more real... but worth the trade off IMO.

So, ideas? Locations? Routes? Hosts? (FYI we are now committed to building our new home in Republic- foundation was poured last week- so we will be full tilt on that next spring-summer, leaving me out as ride coordinator/host.)

    Looking forward to the ideas...

    G

This will give me even more incentive to be fully rehabilitated to ride by this summer

        I was there last month!
I have neither the time,or the inclination, to explain myself to a man, who rises and sleep under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner, in which I provide it. I'd rather you just say 'thank you' and go on your way.

            I'm already one.
Are there steps and guidelines to take?

Yes, yes and yes. I've always hated our hot ???? rallies in late July and early August.

Any interest in Southern Oregon/ Nor Cal ..... Mid/ Late May / Early June ?

Grants Pass, OR/ Crater Lake for 3 day loops ..... or rolling ride down into Happy Camp/ Fortuna/ 299/ 36 , etc etc .... end back in Grants Pass .
Cabin fever will be in full force for the Nucks .... Southern warmth nice , but perhaps not central for all .....
Some ideas below ... you may have hit those a few years back too ?

We did do a Rally in that area a few years back. Not that there's anything wrong with going back there, tons of good roads... But Grand Junction does sound intriguing.

I really like Northern California, especially the Fortuna/Happy Camp/299 kind of stuff. My only caveat is late May it can be very rainy.

Apparently the 36 is getting straightened out so I'm not sure it's a motorcycle destination anymore.

Thanks for feedback, I recall you guys ran out of Florence a few years ago , wasn't sure what you managed to hit . All good ... Grand Junction looked sweet too , wish the border had opened to catch that this Summer

Why don't you guys take a chance and come further east!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

You could easily spend 3+ days riding roads all around NW Arkansas not to mention if you want to go a bit further east into Georgia.

                          Come on you PU$$Y'S!!!!!

Well... for me it is a matter of time. As you know, getting there and back is the challenge. Can't do it next year for sure... but riding Arkansas with you idiots is on my bucket list for sure! Maybe in another couple years we could put together a plan involving one big-ass trailer to haul a load of our bikes out there and hang for a week...

Yeah, definitely a week or more commitment.coming from Republic to Eureka Springs.

When I travel out west I always travel on the weekends and ride the five days through the week.

However, you are 30 hours away and unless you are wanting to have 15 hour driving days you'd break it up into three traveling days.

Since you made the trip to Eureka you might as well go another 10 hours east to Georgia and hit those roads.

Hell, if you could get the logistics to work and money is worth less than time you could just ship the bike(s) and fly out.

Or, I know a guy with a spare ZX 14 you could use if you just wanted to fly out and not bring a bike
