I got a two-day ride in this week thru Salt River Canyon, New Mexico 180 and 78; and up AZ 191; perfect weather and minimal traffic during the week but hit road construction and we were stopped by trains working the mines. Those minor probs were canceled out by the scenic country and mega amount of curves
spedxprt, sounds like you had fun, and great weather. I was on 666 a few years back. Did you get a chance to go to Canyon de Chelly? johnnyvee

DWC tried to put a ride together a number of years ago that included 191. I was hot to do it, but it never came to fruition. Still looks like a bucket list road.

Keep it on your list! We usually ride a loop from Mesa on US 60 to Globe, thru the Salt River Canyon, to Springerville, AZ, to Alpine, AZ to New Mexico 180 south to New Mexico 78, thru Mule Creek, to Arizona 191 North back to Alpine and then to Springerville to stay the night.
