Like me the true friends they are (despite being knuckleheads), Greg and Gordon gently but firmly overrode all my objections, threw their plans out of the window, and escorted this dazed rider the 45 minutes back to my house safely. They opted to not intrude, gentlemen that they are, and quickly departed back to what they should have been doing all along.

I am surrounded on this site by truly classy people, and am honored to count myself a part of this group. Thank you, Greg and Gordon, for caring, for taking care of someone who needed it but was too much of a knucklehead to admit it, and for giving of yourselves so generously. You bless me.
Amanda and I are so sorry to hear of your and your family's loss Tex. If there is anything we can do please let us know.

Although we are separated by thousands of miles, we are still a ZZR family.

I have neither the time,or the inclination, to explain myself to a man, who rises and sleep under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner, in which I provide it. I'd rather you just say 'thank you' and go on your way.

Another great, if not lightly attended 2west with new fun roads & as always the best of company.

Greg and Annette were top flight in there hosting & frankly I was amazed they continued with it given their busy home transference activities. The food that Annette spread before was endlessly delicious and over the top. Many new favourites. No doubt Mrs. Trout will notice my waist received too much attention. When I think back at all the 2west ride events over the years it’s obvious we’re blessed to have these amazing women in our lives and who knows why they put up with us.

Of course as with every 2west we had to attend to some repairs. It being Dave’s turn this time, after some basic electrical checks a loose ground wire was hopefully the ticket sorted out before he headed towards his homeward friend this morning.

As much as I like riding around with my seat on fire I find I always look forward towards the end of the days ride to return to base camp to shoot the shit with those that can make it and reminisce on those that couldn’t.

Can’t really put into words the shock over the terrible news and I’m certain everyone’s heart is with Tex and his family.

I’m safely on the ferry on the last leg towards Vancouver Island and a short 30 min ride there after with lots of LEOs to guide my way home.

As always, thanks to those that could make it, miss those that couldn’t but pitched in on line to ramp up the energy.

Rock on, live every day like it’s your last, and squeeze that lemon till it cries.

Just rode in from Republic back to our new home in Spokane, which is of course still in the boxes and bins stage. Gordon, thanks for the compliments- Annette loves to cook and we all benefited from it, except from a fitness perspective...

Thanks to those that were able to attend- we had just enough folks with Gordon, his friend Florian, Bret & Carrie, David and Tex to make it a real "Mini Two West". As noted above, we were just thoroughly trashed to see our friend Tex and his family in such pain and distress, but prayers and positive thoughts are all we can do for them, as frustrating as that may be.

We did really miss our "Two West Regulars" who were unable to make it- you know who you are! I plan to do a proper Two West at the ranch in Republic again in a few years, with much more extensive planning and prep. Don't make me come look for you to attend when that one rolls around! BTW, we did ride some pretty damn good roads.

          Best to All,

          Greg

I just arrived home safe and sound. My bike acted up a couple more times on the way home. I thought a few times it might leave me stranded but each time after a half hour of rest it fired back up and ran properly until the next failure. I have lots of time to sort it out now I’m home.

Thanks Greg and Annette for hosting our little get together as brief as it was for me.

I’m still processing the the tragedy that has fallen upon Tex and his family. My thoughts, my prayers and my condolences are with all who have had their lives changed forever by their loss. God bless.

G, I'm 8 hours from Spokane, so maybe some impromptu rides next year when you're settled in? We also need a borscht run to Grand Forks BC with Tex

Yep. This year is crazy though- we are not at home on a weekend until mid-September!

Republic and other places thereabouts give or take 2 hours are within a day’s ride for me. Just banked another 6.5hrs OT this 1st week back so another larger extended weekend ride or two are within this years remaining stack of cards for the silver sword.

Hey Jeff: What’s the new job? I thought you moved to Oregon to enjoy your retirement.
