  • Just bought a ZZR600!

    Good Evening All

I have just purchased a clean and low mileage ZZR600.

I am collecting this week. What sorts of things should I be looking out for? Are there any weak points which I need to be aware of?

I have never owned a Kawasaki before, so any advice would be much appreciated.

The bike in question is the one I am using for my avatar. A 2001 model with 18500 miles on it.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

Good on you and welcome to the site. Advise - 1. Ride it. 2. Fill it up when it goes near empty. 3. Repeat step 1 and 2 until necessary maintenance.

Keep the chain lubed, adjusted, and proper air pressure in the tires. There is lots of advise on this site, and others site across the vast cyber world. You be the judge and don't hesitate to ask questions.

Congrats. That is a pretty bike.

Considering its age, I would look over the entire bike, concentrating on brakes, gas tank, tires, chain, air filter, etc. Then I would change all the fluids, lube the throttle and clutch cables and put in some new spark plugs. Then, go for a ride and see what ya got.
