  • Back in the saddle

    Hey all, haven't been riding since 2016. Previous bikes owned were a 2001 ZX12R, 2008 CBR1000RR then a 2010 VFR1200F.

The bike bug kicked back in and I couldn't pass up a deal on a one owner dark blue 2005 ZZR1200. Original owner replaced the stock pipes with hindles and put color matching GIVI hard bags on it right away. He just purchased a newer Concours 1400 so he sold me the ZZR for $3200 Canadian.

Welcome to the site and congrats on a nice example of an 05.

Great deal with the pipes AND bags!

    How many miles on it?

A lot of knowledge about the ZZR as well as motorcycles in general.

Stick around for a bit and check it out.

I have neither the time,or the inclination, to explain myself to a man, who rises and sleep under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner, in which I provide it. I'd rather you just say 'thank you' and go on your way.

It's got 51000kms which is around 30000miles. The owner claims it's been serviced yearly by his local bike shop. Visual check of the clutch fluid and engine oil look clear and clean. The head bearing seems tight. The front/rear sprockets and chain were recently replaced. It's got Bridgestones with lots of tread remaining with no signs of scalloping on the front. Probably gonna replace them with Michelin Pilots when the time comes. although I'm a "keep it stock" kinda guy, it sounds very nice with the hindle pipes.. not overly loud, just a nice gutteral growl.

Only negative is when the dealer installed the GIVI side bags, they neglected to give the owner back the factory grab rails. He never even thought about them until I asked if he had them, so I have to track down a set... if anyone has a set they aren't using, let me know what you want for them.

I'm sure a set of grab handles will turn up.

Maybe post up a request in the buy sell trade forum.

I only saw 1 side available on Fleabay just now. Like "O" said, they'll turn up.
            Keep looking.

                And a right: https://www.ebay.com/itm/05-KAWASAKI...wEGY:rk:8:pf:0

Buy it now for less than $35 or make offer and possibly save more.

They're both by the same seller so maybe they'll give you a discount for buying the pair.

                Good luck.

Welcome aboard, Gforce, and congratulations on the bike

Once you've put some miles on it I'm interested in a compare/contrast with the VFR1200.

                    Please post more photos

                      Welcome!

I was just in Ottawa the other week, visiting a buddy from Miramachi.

I'm also curious about your VFR1200 experience - they seem a bit controversial
