    Moriah,

May God bless you and your brother and sister. Your dad sounded like he was one of the really great guys and I'm sorry I wasn't around here earlier, to know him.

I just drove by his crash siting the other day with my aunt when i remembered he had this. My sister hannah read all of the posts about him on the fourth of july to remember him so thank you so much for that :) hannah and brandon were both really little when he passed away and i am terrified they wont remember what a great dad he was to us. I wish they had gotten to spend more time with us, he was the best :)

Your post really hit home with me, Moriah.

A year or two, maybe three, I sent your dad's sister (can't remember her name at the moment) all the photos I had with your dad in them.

        Here they are -

Futile, my ZX-11, Jody, and Mike's RS ready to leave Sunday morning. The morning was bright and sunny. A word about Futile. He rode down the previous day in rain most of the way, just to be able to ride with us the next day back exactly the way he had come, in the rain again. He is Grade-A stuff.

I wish I had more for you.

Diogenes said that we have two ears and one mouth so that we'll listen more and talk less. Your dad was the embodiment of that in the best way. Though he didn't brag about it, he loved you and your siblings very much. I hope you are all well and happy.

        Thank you for posting.
Thank you so much crazytrain, this means a lot. I accidently replied to the wrong post earlier, oops. I have a question regarding something to do with myself, my siblings, and my dad. it wont let me message you and this site is VERY confusing. so if you could please get back to me at your soonest convenience, that would be great.

        sincerely

        Moriah

Moriah, you can send any member a private message without too much trouble. If you can't figure it out just holler and we'll all lend a hand.

Also, a bunch of us are coming to Idaho/Montana in July, and we're stopping at the crash site on Saturday July 18. We'd be honored to share that time with you and your family. Contact me if you'd like to arrange to meet us there.

Slayman and I will be stopping at his curve on our way to Dillon next month to pay our respects, reflect a bit, and make sure his memorial is intact. I haven't been over there in 5 years.

Can someone tell me the mile mark? I'll be passing that way in August.

Can someone tell me the mile mark? Likely be passing by right near the anniversary. Be nice to stop and say ‘hi’.

Stew - It is a couple miles East of the welcome center on the Montana/Idaho border. That is to say, go East from the welcome center 2-3 miles. The marker (if it is still there) is on the North side of the road against a rocky outcropping on the inside of a left-hand sweeper as you face East. There is a moose crossing sign nearby. I'm sure the sign is there because he was dodging a moose when he died. Give him my regards.

It is good to see the brotherhood that lives on this site. Kudos Sacowan.

We lost another member in 2008, you will remember him as John/Trackjunke. One of favorite places in the Smokey Mtns was the overlook on the Richard Russell PKWY. A plaque was placed there in his memory, but later removed by the hwy dept. I still stop there pay respects when I ride that road, as do several others that have been/are on the site. I have found most of the members here to be memorable characters.

Keep riding guys. And stay safe.
