Anyone have experience with the ebay pumps or know where to get oem ones?

Would it be worth swapping the points out?

Recently another member, Banner, had some fun with Chinese pumps - IIRC they don't have an automatic shutoff?

A local ZZR1200 owner recently bought a set of fuel pumps I took off a parts bike. He wanted them because the eBay ones he bought got too hot and didn't work too well. No complaints from him about the ones he bought off me.

eBay OEM set (price is if posted to Australia).
        Another set

DO NOT buy the ones from the chinese companies. They're dangerous and can cause fires. They're shit.
Your only option is to go on ebay and find a used set. There are actually quite a few out there. I'd suggest taking the existing ones off and doing a pressure test first, to be sure that's the problem and that it isn't the carbs.

After years of stop, I had some issue on the fuel pumps. The engine was unable to overcome 6000rpm. The carbs were fine. So I disconnected the pumps outputs from the carbs and I connected them to small pipes flushing into a container.
I pumped all the gasoline in the tank to the container. I did it for test but the operation fixed the issue.
I believe after years of stop, the pumps got some gluing substances (from dried gasoline) on the pump membrane. I assume the test with fresh gasoline cleaned the pumps themselves.

While the elite pushes for ecological transition and electric engines, I enjoy the power of a 1200cc 4 strokes engine fed by 4 x 40mm. carburetors.

So decided to fire her up with fresh gas before I change the fuel pumps, and it lives. I've started her everyday since Tuesday, and it's gotten better every day. I rode her for a minute on Wednesday and after a few hesitations, she ran fairly smooth. I started her yesterday with a backfire, and she was idling great and sounded much better. I guess not riding her for 2 years makes a big difference.

Well, good! Maybe the pumps were a bit gummed up from doing nothing for a while. Perhaps a shot of carb cleaner in the tank to finish the job.
