That sucks, I would just plug & patch it. With those types of punctures I do it all the time - unless the tire is at the end of it’s life, then I just spoon on a new one.

I've never plugged a tire before but know plenty that have.
There is enough life left in it to try a plug but I have already ordered a set of new tires just in case

I usually remove the tire from the rim, plug and then patch from inside. That way I know it will last but I know lots of folks just plug them with no problems.

That sucks, Mike. Why did you choose a phillips-head? Is it JIS? I prefer the torx head screws for flats. They are less likely to rowl out and I like to test myself.

I've plugged tires that still have life on them several times. Most of the time they've been fine till the tire wears out. I did have one that when the tread started getting low the plug started leaking. At that point I just replaced it with a new one. YMMV.Originally posted by BIG O View PostAlready done
