  • New Fireblade! Like you care...

In case you weren't paying attention, Honda rolled out their new Fireblade and WSBK team this week. They say the bike has MotoGP technology from the RC213V and it does have Ohlins active suspension, Brembo mono-block brakes and it looks pretty cool. They claim a 13% increase in power and a weight of 201 kilo's... but no V-four. Good luck beating Jonny R and his ZX10, Honda. Or the Ducati and Yamaha teams, for that matter...

“Live a good life. If there are gods and they are just, then they will not care how devout you have been, but will welcome you based on the virtues you have lived by. If there are gods, but unjust, then you should not want to worship them. If there are no gods, then you will be gone, but will have lived a noble life that will live on in the memories of your loved ones.”...Marcus Aurelius, Meditations

Disappointed, but not surprised that the new CBR1000RR-R (can I get another R please Pat) is not a V4, but an inline 4 that revs to the moon. I not betting on Bautista or Haslam (Leon is now with HRC) to win the title, but I don't think Rea will be able to continue winning on the antiqued ZX.

I would have agreed with that statement a few months ago, but the KHI team and JR sure found a way to make their bike competitive again in the second half. And Kawi can improve the ZX10R again. JR has proven mentally stronger and tactically superior to Chaz over the years (don't get me wrong, I love Chaz) and in close fights I would put the money on JR every time. Just saying.

I had a 2008 CBR1000 and it was an incredible machine. Just uncomfortable on the street.
