Brief update. The more I ride this bike, the more I like it. I've mostly just been running to work and back. Went up to the cities earlier this week to ride the Zed because my brother didn't think it was running right. Just had it tuned and an Ivans jet kit installed. At the bottom of the cloverleaf on 169 I jumped on it and flashed to 160 mph, he never dropped back more then 40 feet. The N1K kept up easily. When getting back on the Zed I was shocked to realize how much more legroom there is on the N1K. At this level of performance, it is amazing how easy and comfortable the N1K is to ride.
There are a couple of little things to pick at to make it perfect for you but to me that is part of "personalizing" the bike.
I know of very few people that don't do something to their bike to make it stand out from the rest.
Sometimes it actually needs it

I have neither the time,or the inclination, to explain myself to a man, who rises and sleep under the blanket of the very freedom that I provide, and then questions the manner, in which I provide it. I'd rather you just say 'thank you' and go on your way.
You are absolutely right. I'm going to finish this season riding stock. Then make changes over the winter. The aftermarket looks like it will be good for this bike. I figure: full exhaust, luggage, or at least a rack, drop the bars, and a better screen. Not sure about the seat. Custom ones are kind of a shot in the dark. After a month away from it, getting back on the Zed was a blast. I really like that bike, but I'm glad I made the switch. My skill set is better suited to the N1K. Both are fun to ride. Gotta do something about the mpg, cause 40 sucks.
Just re-read this thread, pursuant to my "honey its not you" thread...
Sounds like Jim is one happy camper, even after the "new relationship" glow has worn off.
I like the fact that this bike is so relatively light, and how much lighter it will be when that ugly exhaust system has been thrown as far as possible into a pond. Just might be my next one.
And Danno, I promise I will put an aftermarket windscreen on it if I buy one!

Don't take my personal preferences to heart, Greg. Do it up the way it suits your riding. I would think the aftermarket would be starting to make stuff for the N1K by now.
