Re: 1/5 throttle adapter
Look forward to hearing what you think about the adapter. Been kicking that idea around myself.

Re: 1/5 throttle adapter
72 degrees of rotation from idle to WFO. Quicker than the "old style" 1/4 turn throttle which goes from ho-hum to holy shit in a mere 90 degrees.

Re: 1/5 throttle adapter
Ok the conversion part is in. I hope to get it in and get a ride in tomorrow.....
Update....Install is pretty straight forward....Disassemble the throttle assembly and clip the adapter over the cable part of the throttle tube. This changes the radius of the tube and shortens the pull.
This then presents you with cables that are too short. You then take the plastic lock not on the cable at the throttle assembly and at the carbs off. Cut them out and you now have some adjustable play. Tighten those up as much as needed. If you still do not have enough you can trim the threaded end which is also plastic down 1/4 inch. I had to do that at the throttle but not at the carbs. I did a quick test and it opens the carbs completely in about 1 1/4 inch of throttle.. I put it all together and fired it up. No probs I just need to give it a test run this afternoon.....
Here are the how to's from the Zx10 site

Re: 1/5 throttle adapter
Ok after about 50 miles of city, country roads and some twisties...."Why didnt I do this sooner" comes to mind....zero problems and a whole bunch of fun......

You will immediately notice the prior muscle memory you have for shifting is off. You get such good throttle response that it wants to lighten the front end. Once you quickly get used to it shifts are fast and no problem.
If you blurp the throttle when down shifting it is perfect it puts it right in the rpm range you want, at least it does for me.
For the middle aged squids they will love the ease to loft the front end, do burnouts and easily destroy traffic during those congested commutes....
