Carb Question
I literally have never shimmed or synced carbs on a bike. I am mechanically inclined and fix most stuff myself. However, I'm not comfortable with carbs because they are so easy to f-up. My question revolves around the carbs on my bike. I bought it last year with 2500 miles on it. It ran and still runs well. How do I know if I need to adjust them or if they need cleaned? What am I looking for? I know I sound green with this stuff and that's because.........well........I am green when it comes to this sh!t. Can someone educate me on what to look for and how to tell if they need cleaned?
Thanks MuchYea, 220..221, whatever it takes..... -Jack Butler
If you want something other than the ZZR1200, buy it. I'll answer your questions then...... -Jimmymac

Re: Carb Question
.
..
... Try this simple test first .... If you can do a quarter mile in 10.1" then the carbs are fine .... If not .... well then they probably need a complete overhaul ........ =^>
On a more serious note ... call me this evening and I'll be glad to walk and talk you through the basics and we can take it from there .....

Re: Carb Question
Thanks DWC for spending some time talking with me.......very good education. I can't tell you how much I appreciate someone who will take the time to inpart their knowledge with someone they have never met.
I am going to put together this dangerous sounding potion and add half of it......not sure what I will do with the other half......maybe add some Captain Morgan to it.

Again, thanks DWC!!

David is like the knowledgable and kind older brother we all wish we had while growing up. I would give the man the shirt off my back if he asked ( however he would probably offer two in return
).
