Re: Wife's new ride
Yea, yea I know the roots! I suppose I am a little touchy about it because all the Jeep guys around here just like to hate on my cruiser because it wheels better than thier jeeps

I would be happy to wheel with you as well and the wheelin' here is pretty good!!

Re: Wife's new ride
the sideways seats are sucky for rear seat passengers off road though.
i had an 85 cj7, i did a full cage, 383 stroker tb350 atlas tc, custom bumpers, dual winches (to pull out hummers) 6" lift, 33/12.50 tires
the one thing i hated was i went carb instead of a fi system and on wierd inclines it would stall and that can be a big problem. the guy i sold it too got on a steep hill and stalled it 2 weeks after he bought it, rolled it 400' down a ravine. came back and thanked me for building such a good cage because he walked away. i used to build my own sprint cars

Re: Wife's new ride
Nice!!! I have a throttle body on the "75 and it rocks on the steep stuff!! My '66 is in need of a tuned port I'm thinking because as you said those inclines will get you and LC brakes work pretty good forward but not so much backwards unless you have done the disc conversion
I have the floats set so low that when you punch it around a corner it kinda chokes cause there is no fuel in the bowl!!! I think the cage could probably use a little bit of triangulation as well.

Re: Wife's new ride
So today the wife had her first encounter with oncoming traffic. She was going around a corner when a car crossed over the double yellow and she was pushed to the outside of the lane into the marbles and down she went! All is well and she is ready to get back in the saddle. The bike is a little bit uglier than it used to be but she is fine despite a touch of road rash on her knees and hip. I am very glad that she is ok. Bikes are much easier to fix than people are!

She is just happy that she did'nt break a nail!!

Re: Wife's new ride
Man, that sucks!
Shame she went down, otherwise you could have tracked the focker down and "had a talk" or atleast called the police.
Glad she is O.K. and ready to get back on the bike.
