My daughter is going on her first "date" tonight!

Where has the time gone?!!! My 13 year old daughter is going out on a date tonight and I need to have a chat with her guy friend. He has been to our house to have dinner before and seemed like a great kid. Any suggestions to what I can do to scare the living ba'jeezus out of him with out coming off as a bully? I am thinking about sitting down with him while I clean all my weapons and tell him that I am a really nice guy until I have a reason to act otherwise. No threats, just the facts. Thoughts?

My daughter was not allowed to "date" until 16 and even then it was chaperoned... ...I think the best approach was always a "respect" talk. I emphasized what I expected to my daughter by example and before the guys came along. This was ephasized by how I treated her and her mom. Basically by example so she set the bar high for any young man. Then when a boy showed up I explained to him how I thought he should treat my daughter and what I expected. You will know as the convo progresses what to say......It was kinda easy when they knew I was a LEO....resistance is futile and there is no escape....

Maybe I will show him some SRT and shooting competition mementos. I think I will have a polite talk with him about my expectations since my daughter already knows what we expect out of her.

If He seems like a good kid, he probably is.

Sure he thinks about it, but likely lacks the confidence to act on it.

At least that's how it was when I was that old...

I guess times have changed though....



I don't have kids, thank goodness.
