Pray for my Dad/ Now my Mom!
We were headed to a family reunion today, me, my dad, older brother and older sister all on our bikes ( our very first time to ride together) we were going up this two country road; I had just gone thru a right hand curve that had really choppy asphalt
At about 40 and it really upset my bike. As I come out I look in my rearview to see my dads 82 goldwing fishtailing from the road surface and going into the oncoming lane. A woman in a honda pilot was going the other direction (she's a county deputy) and saw my dad and she swerved off the road to her right. She had almost stopped when he hit the left front fender and the bike spun and threw him into the hood. He was probably going 15 when he hit her. He broke his left forearm, left femur, has broken ribs and a punctured lung. He is going to be ok, a couple of surgeries and some re-hab and he should be fine. Prayers are always a good thing even for a non religious old fart. They put his leg in traction and a splint on his arm and just now putting him in a room. I'll post more about it later.Last edited by oldgreykaw; 07-31-2011 at 12:55 AM.
Government's first duty is to protect the people, not run their lives.

Re: Pray for my Dad
Sorry to hear your dad went down. I had been thinking all weekend in Arkansas how our biggest hidden enemy was bad road surface, gravel etc. It kept me paranoid throughout. Hope he heals up quick and gets back on the horse ASAP.
