Canadian Rally?
Ok intrepid fellow riders, heres the question........
We have a really nice 13 acre Farm, forested with fields and a creek running thru it. Tons of great camping spots.
We are within the city limits, and only a 2 minute ride to some nice hotels.
The area we are in has five lakes and summer temps reach about 30C or 85 ish F. Swimming and boating available.
Many of the roads in the Destination Highways book for motorcycling are in this area.
Have a shop so bike maintenance can be done here.
In the middle of August the Roots and Blues festival is on, a 3 day outdoor show, featuring tons of blues and world music.

Re: Canadian Rally?
You're talking next summer, Ax? I would need that much lead time for such an epic journey.

Re: Canadian Rally?
I might consider tagging along with the Dman but this year is already planned.

Yes next year. Sorry guys. Thinking August 2011. Just posted the link to Roots and Blues so everyone could get an idea of the event.
With roots and blues motels will be hard to find but we have plenty of space for tents.02 zzr 1200 82 CBX 74 xl 100, 08 GSF 500

Re: Canadian Rally?
Finally able to post, thx. Well, I'd have to definitely be in for this one should it get organized. The Zed would love to re-acquaint itself with the Rockies.

Re: Canadian Rally?
so base the event around the Rootsm And Blues festival? or shoot for a week earlier or later, to increase the hotel room availability?

Re: Canadian Rally?
2,175 miles from Fort Worth, TX to Salmon Arm, BC...
A "Rally too Far" for me...
... Unless I could do a fly and ride...
Any motorcycle rental places nearby??
Awesome idea though.... That's a beautiful part of the world.
Last time I was up that way was 1984, IIRC... Vancouver, Banff, Jasper, Calgary, Whitehorse, Dawson, Fairbanks, Anchorage, Kenai...
I was a bit younger and not averse to sleeping on the ground back then...
