Decision 2012: Bike Upgrades

Rate this Entry
To keep cost down, for now I've decided to keep the '95 Honda Nighthawk 750 and upgrade the aged forks and rear shocks. I'll be going with Progressive fork springs and shocks, which should provide a much safer, more comfortable ride without all the forks superman-diving if I brake in the slightest, and the rear-end not bottoming out and losing traction (has happened once).

And the site that sells what I need:

I'm looking at about $400 in parts plus labor, but man it's going to e worth it.

Sounds like a great way to stay in the game on the cheap. You might ask Arthur for some suggestions on the suspension since he had to make due with dual shocks and older forks on his vintage racer. Good luck.

    Mark,
You have a good base with the Honda and can upgrade the suspension for your ridings needs. I was without a bike for many years and could was given an '87 Virago 700 that did not run. I got it running and enjoyed it for a year, then sold it to buy a KZ1000LTD. Good luck on the project and keep us posted on your progress.
